Beginner Coaching and Ref clinic Terrace

Terrace Ringette is happy to announce that they will be offering 2 clinics in September; a Coaching and a Ref Clinic.

I would like to encourage anyone who will be coming out on the ice to take the coaching clinic, it is a basic introduction to coaching ringette, and ladies are needed as it's a requirement that females on the bench be known as a "coach". A question was brought up the other day, what if I can't skate? You can still take this clinic and coach from the bench, many of the best coaches do not know how to skate and do a very good job from the bench. We would like to see many people in the Ringette community come out and join us! There is a fee of $65 when registering, keep the receipt and Terrace Ringette Association will reimburse you.The minimum age for doing this clinic is 16 yrs old, but if you are 15 turning 16 this year, you can still do it.The clinic will take 2 days of your time with a one hour ice session.

For the ref clinic, it will take 3 hours of your time with an ice session and we are encouraging many of our older players to take it!! Minimum age is 14 yrs old, but anyone can register, and you will need to know how to skate for this one though! We pay our refs when they are needed, so its a great way to earn some extra money! There is a fee for this clinic, but Terrace Ringette Association will reimburse this as well, so keep your receipts.

Here's the schedule for Sept 11-13 in Terrace.

Friday night, Sept 11- level 1 ref clinic 6pm-9pm

Saturday, Sept 12 Coaching clinic 9am-6pm

Sunday, Sept 13- coaching clinic con't 9am-2pm

Saturday ice- officials and coaches - ice is during clinic times.

Sunday ice- coaches

Coaches must do THREE steps. First, they MUST register with Ringette Canada on www.coachingringette.ca by following the links. The first step after getting onto the website is to scroll to the bottom of the home page and click on the “sign-up” button.

Second, once they are registered, they go back to the CoachingRingette homepage and clicic on the “Course Listing” button located in the list on the left side of the homepage. In that listing of courses, they will find the Terrace CSI course. They will click to register for that course. Then they can log out of CoachingRingette.

Third, go to www.karelo.com. In the middle of the Karelo homepage is a window called “Event Search”. In the “Keyword” field, type “Ringette”. In the “All Events” field, click on the arrow and scroll to find “Ringette”. Click on Ringette. The click “search”. The next page will be a listing of all the Ringette events in Canada for the next 6 months. Scroll down to find “Terrace CSI”. On the right hand side, click on “sign-up”. Fill in the fields.
